Match the vehicle variant
A template for one model year or trim may not line up with another. Confirm the exact variant before editing, especially for current and earlier Model 3 or Model Y layouts and the separate Standard, Premium, and Performance templates.
Know the difference between a template and a wrap
A vehicle template is a mapping guide, not a finished design. It shows the image regions Paint Shop places on the 3D vehicle. Start from that layout, add your own licensed artwork in the editor, and export a clean PNG without the guide overlay.
Use examples as placement references
Public example files can help explain how stripes, gradients, and focal graphics fit a specific template. Review them for composition and panel placement, but do not assume that public access grants unrestricted commercial rights to every illustration, logo, or character shown in an example.
Edit and preview before downloading
Add images, text, shapes, or generated patterns as separate layers, then inspect the result on the matching 3D vehicle. Save an editable project copy before exporting so you can correct seams or reposition text after the first preview.
Validate the exported PNG
The final Paint Shop file must be a square PNG from 512×512 through 1024×1024 pixels and below 1 MB. Keep the filename to 30 characters or fewer and use supported characters. Browser editing and 3D preview are free; every Paint Shop PNG download costs 5 credits after sign-in.
